A unique, state-of-the-art industrial network
SRT manages four production plants located in central and north east Italy, which work together to deliver advanced rolling stock solutions.
We perform the entire realisation process in-house, from design to production and through to maintenance and after-sales services.

OUR PLANTS
Fano Plant
Our plant at Fano (Pesaro and Urbino) is a state-of-the-art research and production facility which works to develop new technological solutions. Designed to industry 4.0 principles, this plant is outstanding in the interconnection and automation of its processes, the basis for highly efficient production and the maintenance of impressive quality and safety standards. The main systems and machines are integrated in our IT and logistics system, facilitating continual monitoring of production and analysis of KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), fundamental for our strategic decision-making.
The plant occupies a site of 19,900 m² with buildings of 6,950 m², designed to optimize production capacity and guarantee safe, convenient working conditions. The main activities include:
- Prototype development
- New product assembly
- Maintenance and revamping of railway machinery
One distinctive feature of the Fano plant is its railway yard, connected directly to the main Adriatic line. Totalling 2,500 metres in length, 480 metres of this indoors, this link strategically places our production facility close to the mainline RFI station. This characteristic greatly simplifies the moving of vehicles, providing speedier, more efficient logistics.
Schieppe plant at Terre Roveresche
The Schieppe plant at Terre Roveresche has buildings of about 13,000 m², dedicated to the production of components and intermediate materials for the railway machines designed by SRT, which are then assembled at our industrial plant in Fano.
At this plant, we produce heavy structural parts using latest-generation laser and plasma cutting machinery, as well as bending presses and other leading-edge equipment. Our welding shop is manned by highly skilled workers supported by welding robots to ensure compliance with strict specifications.
Other activities performed at Schieppe include machining and surface treatments, with fully automated processes thanks to our coating and sand-blasting systems.
Costa di Rovigo and Arquà Polesine plants
Our Costa di Rovigo and Arquà Polesine (Rovigo) plants design and build Colmar brand vehicles, designed to optimize the shunting of rolling stock and handling of railway material. Output comprises shunters, loaders, railway excavators, track laying systems and other equipment, all developed to meet the railway industry’s specific needs.
Our plants are fitted with state-of-the-art machinery and workshop equipment and we guarantee our products’ excellent quality and innovation. The entire industrial complex occupies an area of 42,400 m², with buildings of 8,800 m², demonstrating our commitment to supplying effective, advanced railway industry solutions, with an annual production capacity of about 80 machines.
