The Colmar SL50E is an electric rail-road shunter ideal for shunting rolling stock in complex operating environments such as railway yards and maintenance workshops. With its polyurethane-clad rail wheels, the SL50E excels in manoeuvrability and safety, providing higher performance than conventional locomotives with greater energy and operating efficiency.

Equipped with a 30 kW electric motor powered by rugged batteries of up to 1,000 Ah, the SL50E guarantees very energy-efficient operation with lower maintenance costs due to its easily accessible components.

Its compact size and customization options, such as various types of couplers and drawbars, make it versatile for effective operation even in tight spaces, ensuring a safe working environment thanks to radio remote control and state-of-the-art safety systems.

Strengths and benefits

Low consumption

The SL50E has a 30 kW electric motor powered by lead batteries of up to 1,000 Ah, which provides greater energy efficiency than an internal combustion engine. The direct transmission helps to reduce energy loss and further improves the shunter’s performance.

Low maintenance costs

Easily accessible main components provide quick, simple, safe maintenance procedures. Since the shunter’s structure is less complex than that of conventional locomotives, servicing intervals are longer.

Low operating costs

As the SL50E is not within the scope of the UNI EN 14033 regulations, it is not subject to expensive approval processes, which simplifies the management of documentation and reduces overall operating costs.

Operating flexibility

With its compact size and on-road mode, the SL50E moves easily between tracks and operates effectively in tight spaces. It can be customised with different types of railway couplers and drawbars and can be remote controlled via radio.
