Light conveyor belt wagon
Optimizes turnout and ballast cleaning
The Light conveyor belt wagon consists of an SRT Light line flat wagon, a conveyor belt and a small screening hopper. This vehicle is ideal for placing between an excavator and a train of DHS or similar wagons for transporting spoil. It is designed to simplify operations by transporting material from the excavation point to the first loading wagon.
Unlike conventional drop-side wagons used for turnout renewal works, this vehicle is able to load spoil without occupying the adjacent track, or to operate on single-track lines. Classified as “machinery” under directive 2006_42_EC, it is ideal for use in track and turnout ballast cleaning works.
LIGHT CONVEYOR BELT WAGON
Strengths and benefits
Cost reduction
Significant reduction in overall labour costs.
Reduction in number of construction machines required
Accessories can be added to combine multiple functions on the same wagon, thus reducing the number of vehicles and staff required.
Environmental sustainability
Since it is self-propelled, a conveyor belt wagon with excavator at work can tow two fully laden DHS wagons with no need for a locomotive. This significantly reduces pollutant emissions and noise.
