COLMAR SL200E
Electric rail-road shunter
Optimize rolling-stock shunting with advanced technology and operating flexibility.
The Colmar SL200E rail-road shunter is a highly specialized vehicle, designed to optimize rolling-stock shunting in locations such as railway yards, ports, freight terminals and maintenance workshops. With the superior friction generated by its tyres on the surface of the rail, this vehicle is an effective substitute for conventional locomotives and provides high safety standards and outstanding manoeuvrability.
Equipped with a state-of-the-art system for monitoring wheel-rail contact pressure, it guarantees a constant grip on the track. Compared to conventional locomotives, the shunter has much lower operating costs, is easier to use and provides greater operational flexibility.

Strengths and benefits
Low consumption
The SL200E is equipped with two 60 kW electric motors powered by three lead battery packs of up to 1,400 Ah, which provide greater energy efficiency than an internal combustion engine thanks to the direct transmission, which reduces energy loss.
Low maintenance costs
The accessibility of the shunter’s main components enables speedy, simple, safe routine maintenance, less expensive and invasive than with conventional locomotives.
Low operating costs
The SL200E is not within the scope of the UNI EN 14033 standards, so expensive type-approval procedures are avoided. This means simpler management of documentation during the vehicle’s lifecycle.
Operating flexibility
The SL200E combines its on-rail operation with on-road versatility. It is a compact, agile machine, ideal for operating in tight spaces and moving easily between tracks. It can be customized with various types of railway couplers, adapters or drawbars, depending on the customer’s needs.
Safety
Using the radio remote control, the operator can move freely around the shunter, working in safety from an optimal position. The cab also has cameras providing visibility of blind spots and there are mushroom-head emergency buttons on every side of the vehicle and in the cab. The emergency brake is tripped immediately if the operator is taken ill.
State-of-the-art technology
The SL200E incorporates a sophisticated dynamic traction control system that optimizes towing force, minimizing slip on the rails and tyre wear. What’s more, the latest-generation battery management system increases their lifetime and reliability and reduces charging times.
