One Pass Grinding: superior performance in a single pass
The Vulcano Extreme (XT) is a modular rail grinder designed for high-intensity railway maintenance operations. Available in configurations from 48 to 96 grinding stones, it adapts to varying operating needs. Equipped with state-of-the-art measuring systems, it is able to monitor rails’ state before, during and after grinding, analysing corrugations and changes in dimensions.
The grinding unit adjustment system combines with the special RAVAR software to automatically position the grinding stones to ensure complete coverage of the rail profile and constantly maximize abrasion and effectiveness. The incorporated Industry 4.0 technologies enable remote control and constant monitoring of performance.
The highly efficient Stage V engines minimize emissions and comply with the latest environmental regulations. Each grinding unit is equipped with a dust extraction and spark protection system that combines with devices such as lances and sprinklers to reduce fire risk. Cabs are pressurized and soundproofed to guarantee safety and a healthy environment.
Classified as a category 1 OTM under EN 14033-1, the SRT Vulcano Extreme combines technological excellence and operating flexibility.
