Heavy hopper wagon
Precision unloading of ballast, straight from quarry to construction site
The Heavy hopper wagon is designed to transport and lay ballast. The dispensing outlets are able to unload ballast both on and around the track. The unloading system with eight dispensing outlets is fully automated: the outlet opening and closing cylinders are operated by electrohydraulic control devices.
Comprising a Heavy flatbed and a large hopper, the wagon is an on-track machine compliant with the EN 14033 standards for the construction and maintenance of railway infrastructures. An on-board computer enables the user to view data and monitor the vehicle’s performance, even from remote.

HEAVY HOPPER WAGON
Strengths and benefits
Precise, optimal unloading system
The hydraulic dispensing outlets allow precise unloading, speeding up the work of the ballast regulator.
High quality, performance and convenience
Rugged metal structure and lower centre of gravity and drop-side top height than standard machines.
Optimization of handling
Just one wagon to transport ballast from the quarry straight to the worksite, cutting out unloading from trucks and loading onto construction site hoppers.
Environmental sustainability
Use of rail instead of road transport.
Cost reduction
Reduction in overall procurement costs thanks to optimization of transportation.
More efficient logistics
No need to establish worksites at the stations near the track under construction or maintenance.
Enhanced safety
The wagon is equipped with leading-edge safety systems and features and a lighting system designed to guarantee outstanding operating safety in all working conditions.
