SRT has completed commissioning activities for the Vulcano Light 20M rail grinder, which will operate on the Metro de Medellín network in Colombia.
Designed for rail and turnout grinding, the Vulcano Light 20M is particularly suited for metro and urban railway networks thanks to its compact dimensions, high operational flexibility and reduced loading gauge.
These features allow the rail grinder to work efficiently in confined environments and on infrastructures with limited available space.
The machine is equipped with advanced dust extraction and effective spark containment systems, especially important for underground and urban railway works where safety and environmental control are essential.
With the completion of commissioning activities, the Vulcano Light 20M will now support rail maintenance operations across the Metro de Medellín network, contributing to infrastructure efficiency and long-term reliability.
