Handover of a new Vulcano Light in Poland

SHARE

The Vulcano Light rail grinder, built in Fano, is ready for use on Polish railways.

The delivery of the Vulcano LGT 10M, the latest-generation rail grinder produced by SRT, is an important milestone for the company. The official handover of the train took place in Poland where it will be used by DOLKOM Sp. z o.o., a Company specializing in rail milling and grinding.

Manufactured at our SRT facility in Fano, Italy, the Vulcano 10M underwent rigorous final testing at the San Donato circuit in Bologna before making its way to Poland, to ensure maximum reliability and optimum performance before delivery. Its design reflects SRT’s commitment to providing innovative, safe and sustainable solutions for the railway industry.

The rail grinder, part of the Vulcano Light range, stands out for its versatility and ability to operate efficiently on both tracks and turnouts during a single shift. Thanks to its compact design, it can also operate on underground lines and tight curves, to meet the most complex challenges.

Technology plays a key role: the train is equipped with a modular system that offers customized configurations and great flexibility to adapt to a range of operational needs. The focus on environmental sustainability is clear in the Stage V engines, which comply with European regulations, combining power and efficiency while reducing emissions.

Safety is never an afterthought. The advanced spark containment system, combined with sprinklers and hoses, reduces the risk of fire and ensures safe and reliable operation. Pressurized and soundproof cabins also grant an optimal work environment for operators, for comfort and health in the workplace.

This delivery is another success for SRT, a company that continues to invest in technological innovation to meet the increasingly complex demands of the global rail market. With the Vulcano LGT, we are ready to support our international partners in improving railway infrastructure, ensuring greater safety, efficiency and durability of rail networks.
